Hebrew 13.7-17 -- The word “remember” in v7 is a mental highlighter that is meant to transfix our focus on how the previous leaders impacted us. It is evidently clear that their former leaders’ faith has both been impacted by someone else, and their faith has impacted others, especially them. Since the exhortations is to do likewise, we too should consider ourselves as an indispensable link for the benefit of the Gospel.

Hebrews 12.25-29 -- Both God’s conveyance of the Law at Mt Sinai and the extraordinaire blessings of the New Covenant involved God Speaking to us, but now the author brings to a head a running motif in v25, “See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. …” There are no other avenues unto heaven.

After telling us to lift our drooping hands, he gives us an additional reason to do so. He compares the terror associated with the Law to the superiority and the finality of the New Covenant, therefore one should not reject this opportunity to respond to the gospel.
